Two Pints, Prick!

Two Pints, Prick!

If there’s one thing you could always guarantee when Jack and Victor walked into the Clansman, it was that poor Boabby was about to get absolutely fucking roasted.

There he was, standing behind his bar, minding his own business, when in would stroll the two auld bastards from Craiglang.

Boabby would take one look at them and start with his usual patter.

“Oh, look who it isnae!”

And before he’d even finished taking the piss, Jack and Victor would have a comeback ready.

“Two pints, prick!”

Poor Boabby Never Stood a Chance

The Clansman wasn’t just a pub. It was practically a second home for half of Craiglang.

And Boabby? He was the poor bastard who had to put up with them all.

Jack and Victor were never going to let him away with anything. Every smart-arse comment was met with something even worse.

The brilliant thing was that Boabby never learned his lesson.

Every time those two walked through the door, he’d try again.

And every time, he’d get absolutely slaughtered.

You’d think after years of serving the same two pensioners, he’d have worked out that keeping his mouth shut was probably the safest option.

But where’s the fun in that?

That’s What Made Still Game Brilliant

You didn’t need some massive storyline or elaborate setup to get a laugh out of Still Game.

Sometimes all it took was two auld guys walking into their local for a pint.

Everybody knew a Boabby. The barman who thought he was the funniest bastard in the room, always ready with a cheeky comment.

And everybody knew a Jack or Victor. The kind of auld boy who could cut you down with one sentence before casually ordering his lager.

That’s what made the programme feel so Scottish. The characters, the patter, the insults, the friendships. It all felt familiar.

And let’s be honest, how many of us have walked into a pub since watching Still Game and had to resist the temptation to shout:

“TWO PINTS, PRICK!”

Absolute comedy gold.
